REFLECTION 5
Lesson plan

In this week we learn how to create a lesson plan, it really important for who teacher to be, and here what I have made.

LESSON OVER VIEW
Lesson Topic or Title  : writing  formal and informal letters
Grade Level                : Senior High School

Class/Semester            : XI/2nd

Goal(s)                        : Getting students to understand the differences between formal and informal letters is an important step towards helping them master differences in register required for writing in English. These exercises focus on helping them improve their understanding of the type of language that is used in an informal and formal letter.
                                                                                                                                
Lesson Summary        : Students will find some differences between formal and informal letter and evaluate between the language and the requirements of both letters. They will compare and contrast different of the both letters. Student also will generalize of each letter. Students will use table organizers to gather information ideas to put into writings and presentations. The Internet will allow them to search various versions  about the letters. Element of result searching will be identified.

Approximate Time Needed

This lesson will take 2 hours/90 minutes

Lesson Objective

Understanding the difference between formal and informal letters, vocabulary practice, writing practice.

Lesson Procedure

Pre
·         Ask the students, do they know how to write formal and informal letter
·         Ask the student to write a letter

While

·         Tell them we are going to study how to write formal and informal letters
·         explain them briefly what are formal and informal letter
·         Show them the formal and informal letter in a page by using projector
·         Tell students they will now work in teams of 5
·         Ask each of group to list the differences between both letters.
·         Correct the students task and explain once again.

Post
·         Ask students to match the phrase 1-11 and match them with a purpose  (in order to used the students in get understanding of writing letter)

·         ask the students to write a letter by Choosing one of the three subjects below to their friend or family member.
  1. Write a letter to sister that is living far from you. Tell  her about your current  conditions.
  2. Write a letter to a cousin and invite them to your Mauled ceremony.
  3. Write a letter to a company that you want to look for a job.
·         Show the students paper task by using the projector and ask the another students to correct the letter that displayed.

Evaluation/Assessment
Rubrics will be used to assess the letters that students have made, that some categories will be required, consist of they understanding in distinguishing the differences both letter, grammar using that will also consider, and vocabularies using that they have provided in the letter that they have written.


Accommodations

1.    Suggest the student to have a class in the library, therefor they will easily find the material. 
2.    By working in group, the student who  has difficulties in writing could ask to his friends.
3.    Let students use a spelling dictionary
4.    Let students to seek the material in the internet
5.    Ask students to write in stages so it will be easier them in correcting errors.
